North Carolina Local Counsel Services for Out of State Lawyers

Local Counsel Lawyers Serving North carolina

Camp Lejeune Justice Act

Tragically, many veterans and their families were harmed by the toxic water contamination from Camp Lejeune located in North Carolina. However, given the passage of time, our firm understands that victims of toxic water exposure at Camp Lejeune may have relocated after service, been stationed in a different part of the country, or moved from North Carolina for a variety of other reasons. We believe justice should have no borders.

Though victims may live elsewhere, the lawsuits for compensation under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022 can only be filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. For out-of-state victims or their attorneys, it is necessary to engage a licensed North Carolina attorney (often referred to as “local counsel”) to facilitate the efficient filing and prosecution of these claims.

Our law firm has experience assisting non-residents and out-of-state counsel with Camp Lejeune claims. Depending on your needs or the volume of cases your firm may have already engaged, we are associated with partner firms who are involved with the Camp Lejeune legislative and steering committees and are leading the fight in our state for the compensation of these veterans and their families.

North Carolina Local Counsel Fees

As part of our commitment to upfront and transparent pricing, our typical fee for serving as local counsel is a contingency percentage (between 15%-25%) of the recovery for out-of-state counsel. However, please contact us to discuss your case and potential needs so we can address whether an hourly rate, flat fee, or contingency fee makes more sense for your case.
